Great Lakes Ghost Stories: Haunted Tales Past & Present

In his travels as a Great Lakes historian, the author has stumbled across many ghost stories connected to the lakes, from phantom ships, haunted islands and ghostly lighthouses. In this book, he opens his personal “haunted” file to reveal a collection of stories that have never appeared in print before. In each case, Oleszewski weaves the experiences with ghosts, and the rich history of the location, into a story that you simply can’t put down. In a departure from his usual tales of Great Lakes history and maritime adventure, the author reveals a dark side to the region that you don’t want to miss.

Great fun reading for a 65 yr old dad, his 39 yr old son & 37 yr old daughter. When grandkids come, it will be fun for them also…I highly recommend this series for all readers.

I bought the book for myself after visiting Seul Choix Lighthouse and enjoyed the book immensely!! Jan follows the floor plan exactly and adds the history of the Captain and his antics. My grandsons (ages:2 & 3) asked me to read it to them one day. They have enjoyed this book so much that we read it every day. They never get tired of it. They enjoy the antics of Harry and the Captain. Love the illustrations. I highly recommend this book to any age that is interested in lighthouses or just want to read a good enjoyable book with their children or grandchildren. Well done!
