The 1/4 limb doll is softer and more cuddly to hold but can only wear long sleeved shirts and pants. The 3/4 limb doll can wear shorts and short sleeved shirts but doesn't feel quite as realistic as the 1/4 limb doll. Basically, 1/4 limb doll is better for holding and 3/4 limb is better for display.
