Bezel Ring with Gemstone shown in Blue Topaz. Also available in Rhodolite Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, and Cubic Zirconia. The bezel setting holds the stone securely in place. The protective lip makes it less likely that the stone will fall out of the setting. Also, the bezel setting provides greater protection for a stone than does a prong setting, which may leave a stone vulnerable to cracking or chipping. Many people prefer the elegant look of the bezel setting to the prong setting because the metal lip does not extend as far over the top of the stone as do the prongs.
