Introducing Uncle Peter’s Pasties
Uncle Peters Pasties has it’s beginning in Clarkston, Michigan and was born out of the economical conditions of 2009. Since Pete had time on his hands, a vacant fully equipped building, and a cookie recipe (a favorite of his friends and relatives) that he wanted to promote, he decided to open a deli calling it “Uncle Peters”. Thus, in the beginning “Uncle Peters” served sandwiches, pizza, salads, cookies, and daily specials. As an afterthought, he had a pasty recipe from a pasty store he purchased in Auburn hills, Michigan. After tweaking the recipe (adding more meat, reducing the amount of potatoes, etc), he decided to put the pasties on the menu. Much to everyone’s delight, the pasties began to outsell the other items on the menu. The pizza ovens were replaced by convection ovens, the deli case was sold as the “grab and go” pasties were placed in the walk in cooler, and the pizza prep table was replaced by stainless steel work tables.Everyone at Uncle Pete’s Pasties take exceptional pride in what they do from preparing the ingredients, rolling the pasties, and admiring the pasties as they come out of the oven. Uncle Pete’s Pasties are a healthy product that meets nutritional needs as well as a great tasting meal. Uncle Peter’s Pasties were recently voted number one in Lower Peninsula Michigan! All of the meat Pasties include potatoes, rutabaga, onions, carrots, and the original ingredient. Uncle Peter’s Pasties are handmade and wrapped in a flaky crust daily. A pasty embraces everything we love about sandwiches – a meal in portable form. Although you could argue it’s not technically a sandwich, it’s got meat (and/or veggies) surrounded by crust (bread-like, right?), and that’s good enough for us. In fact, it was named as the state sandwich of Michigan!
And, oh yes — the Xtreme! Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies! The concept, which started this whole journey are made with organic oatmeal and dipped in dark chocolate. They are phenomenal. We do sell them. People love them.
