Established in January of 2019, Gray Fox Woodworking prides themselves on producing common items with uncommon designs. Gray Fox Woodworking is a team made up of its founder, Eric Gray and his wife, Anne (Fox) Gray. With last names like those, the company name Gray Fox Woodworking was born. Eric does the primary building and finishing, while Anne helps with collaboration before, during, and after projects.
As a resident of the Grand Rapids area since birth, Eric has never considered calling anywhere else home. Eric comes from years of owning and operating a commercial photography company as well as a photo booth rental company. Anne was a dental assistant for an Endodontist. They each had seemingly solid careers so why change? Well, Eric always had a nagging desire to create physical items rather than digital. He found a warmth and connection to the things he created that didn’t exist when staring at photos on a screen. Anne’s career path had always been very smooth, straight, and clear. She decided it’s time for a new path with curves, hills, and valleys.
The hand painted designs of the Coaster Sets are on Travertine Stone with a cork backing. No two coasters are identical as each coaster is hand painted and unique. The set of four coasters weigh approximately two pounds and each travertine coaster measures 4 x 4. Personalization and a variety of color schemes are available upon request.
Travertine is a natural stone deposited by geothermal heated hot springs. It is considered to be a type of limestone which forms due to rapid precipitation of calcium carbonate, hence, it is found around mineral spring deposits. When minerals dissolve in the groundwater then get moved by natural springs and rise above the ground, travertine is created. Travertine is very durable being water and moisture resistant. All you need to do is to give them a good care and maintain properly.

Also available are matching hand painted Decanters. The decanters are hand made and hand painted on a stone texture glass decanter. No two decanters will be identical as each decanter is hand painted and unique. The one liter capacity decanter measures approximately 12″ x 4″. Decanting helps the wine to open up. A typical reason to decant is to aerate the wine. Many young wines can be tight or closed on the nose or palate. As the wine is slowly poured from the bottle to the decanter it takes in oxygen, which helps open up the aromas and flavors.
A matching Decanter and Coaster Set makes a great gift!
